Yellowstone at DCL uses Engelman Spruce, Lodge
Pole Pine and Douglas Fir "Standing Dead" timber to
craft your log home.
"Standing Dead" is extremely important
to each Yellowstone Log Home. The logs used to craft your log
home have been naturally drying since 1986.
Below is a list of components to remember about
your Yellowstone Log Home:
Logs are all harvested of standing dead timber,
naturally dry and already at equilibrium with its environment.
Humidity of harvest area averages 16-30 percent.
Humidity of our area averages 40-90 percent.
Logs for your home are all harvested from the same area of the
forest. Larger forests often have mild climates. Harvesting
from the same area ensures same-growth pattern, moisture and
nutrients. This care in harvest helps to provide what we feel
to be the most stable log product available.
All Yellowstone at DCL logs are graded and individually stamped
by an independent agency recognized by federal and local building
code enforcement officials. All logs are stamped
by T.P.I. (Timber Products Industries). This grade stamp on
every log ensures that it has been inspected for structural
integrity, moisture content and is suitable to be used as an
integral part in your log home.
Yellowstone at DCL is building its reputation
one log home at a time. An independent grading agency, TPI,
recognized by federal and local government, is one way of ensuring
the integrity of your investment and our reputation.
